Head Coach: Power Skating, Team Development, Academies, Private Lessons
Mike Grew up in Kapuskasing, a small town in northern Ontario, where most schools had outdoor rinks during the winter months. He spent countless hours on the ice. He played minor hockey during the winter as well as participating in multiple school sporting activities such as wrestling, basketball, track & field, hockey and football. Mike finished 3rd in Provincials for Shot Put & 2nd in Long Distant Track. During the summer months Mike participated in baseball, played tennis and spent time camping and working on the farm. Mike was also involved with Boy Scouts and then Army Cadets where he was awarded the Provincial Proficiency Award.
After moving to the West Coast, Mike became a Foster Parent for over 10 years and worked with street youth through the Union Gospel Mission.
In 2015, 2016 and 2017 Coach Mike was an Assistant Coach with the Lower Mainland Monarchs Spring Hockey 2006 & 2003 teams. Previously Coach Mike was with Mission MHA as a Coach with Atom & Peewee House and Rep and held the position of Pewee Divisional Manager. Following Minor Hockey Mike Co-Founded Mission Minor Roller Hockey and held the position of President. From 2016 -2020, Mike was an on-ice Instructor/Evaluator with the BC Hockey Midget Scholarship Programs Fraser Valley Flames. Coach Mike was also an evaluator for the PCAHA Female Bantam Zone Program. Mike also provides Private Training to Peewee and Bantam Rep players from the Whatcom County Warriors Minor Hockey and Abbotsford Hawks Minor Hockey Associations. In 2020, Mike was a coach for a Senior BC Games 55+ Zone 3 Team. Currently Mike plays men’s ice hockey, and Slow-pitch.
Mike represents our High Performance Rep Power Skating & Skills, Conditioning and Development Camps and our Adult/Youth Academies. Mike is also available for Private Lessons and works with Player and Team Development.
