The Female Jr. Warriors Hockey Program was introduced in 2018 for aspiring female athletes to continue in their sport of hockey into the spring/summer. We created an environment in which they are educated and taught correct fundamentals in skating and hockey skills combined with a scrimmage lead by our coaches. Our Warriors Academy Coaches have designed a Development Program that allows athletes to train once a week at one arena location on a set date and time for their age group.
Primary focus will be on proper skating and skills to increase player speed and agility. Our Pro Coaches will cover formal and corrective instruction in proper balance, weight transfer, elongated strides and recovery, open hips, inside/outside edge work, pivots & transitions, power starts, explosive maneuvers, stopping, as well as forward & backwards crossovers. In addition, players will work on their puck skills in passing, stickhandling, shooting and timing.
Our GOAL is to deliver, promote and encourage female hockey development for players of all age and skill levels. Players in the program will receive 45 minutes of skating and skill development. After the development session players will be fairly divided into two teams to play a 3 on 3 Pond Hockey Game which is officiated, coached and supervised by the coaches.
Each age division takes 18 players and 2 goalies. Divisions range from U15 to U7
